We acknowledge the Kombumerri People as the Traditional Custodians of the Land and Sea Country on which this symposium will be held. We recognise their enduring connection to this region, where they have lived, cared for and shared knowledge of Country for more than 20,000 years. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to emerging Elders, recognising their deep knowledge, cultural authority, and the vital role they play in caring for Country, culture and community.

We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands, waters and skies across Australia, and that they continue to maintain their connection to Country through culture, knowledge, community and conservation.
